Just as I am gearing up for the summer festival season, I get some bummer news. My application for the Cabbagetown Art Festival was declined. All I got back was a form letter so, it's hard to say why they aren't allowing me to return. I had a great showing there last year. I met a lot of new people and had some terrific sales.
Festivals are a tricky wicket, and the older I get the more tiring this political game gets.
There is a process by which you can re-apply if you feel your work was not given it's due. I do have other events lined up in Eastern Ontario so, in the meantime, I'm quickly getting my application in to other festivals in the hopes that I'm not too late to show in Toronto this summer. I'll keep you posted!

Consider This!

So, if you are out and about this weekend... looking to take in some art...
I am a member in both the Kingston Arts Council and the Quinte Arts Council. Coincidentally they both have their annual juried shows running at the moment. "Expressions" is located in The Ritchie Room at Capers Brasserie and Wine Bar, 272 Front Street, Downtown Belleville, Ontario. The exhibit will be open April 26 to May 17, 2007 Tuesday through Friday, 4 to 8 pm and Saturday noon to 4 pm. You can view one of pieces in this show. As well, if you are in Kingston, you can check out 2 of my paintings at the Wilson Room, Kingston Public Library. The show runs until May 30Th. The opening is this Thursday night.
Just wanted to keep you posted on events to consider!
